El Torcal de Antequera – 5.+6.3.2022

In Torre del Mar we got up just a bit late to see the sun rise, but we did see green birds, shrieking loudly.

After leaving Torre del Mar, we went to a shopping center with some special murals 🙂

Everywhere there are a lot of cyclists on the roads. Considering that the cars always have to keep at least 1.5m distance to the cyclists, it sometimes is very difficult to overtake them!

Quite often we see playgrounds, always with a colourful fence around them.

We ignored Malaga and drove inland, via Almogia.

The landscape is very picturesque!

We could see El Torcal from quite a distance. It’s a huge lime stone formation.

It was a cloudy but dry day. Of course we still took a lot of photos…

El Torcal is one of these places that you have to go and see for yourselves. Photos can’t do justice to this beautiful region!

… and this is only a small selection of all the photos I took…

We saw a lot of iberian ibexes!

The sun set behind a hill. We could see Malaga from up there!

The following day we decided to explore that huge karst landscape a bit more. We walked from our parking spot, because the road was shut (to avoid all the cars driving into the nature park – shuttle buses took the people up!).

That day we did the „yellow walk“, which led us through alleys and corridors, too.

The blue sky made everything look even more kitschy!

There was a quick shower of sleet, but luckily it only lasted a couple of minutes!

We also saw flowers, and iberian ibexes (not shy at all!).

Some vultures and other birds were around, too.

… and more stones …

The round disks are very special!

The evening light looked fantastic!
