Fuente de Piedra – 8.3.2022

We were probably the only ones at the Camping, and there were only a few people around the lagoon. When it rains plenty in autumn and winter, the lagoon is full of water, and there are a lot of very pink flamingoes breeding. That wasn’t the case last winter, so the water is very shallow and there are not many flamingoes. In any case they have to fly about 300 km every night to look for food elsewhere!

We saw different water birds, even some with the light blue beaks!

Some little birds, a kind of hawk, lots of hares, and a beautiful (but probably poisenous) caterpillar also showd up. The bees were full of pollen!

We did a long walk around the place, but the flamingoes were far away – there just wasn’t enough water in the lagoon to get close enough.

In Spain we often see huge murals on industrial buildings.

In the evening we enjoyed the red sky 🙂
