After breakfast we drove off, past Ardales, through lovely countryside, with lots of olive trees (still no vines…).

We headed for Setenil de las Bodegas. A lot of the houses there are built into the rock. It’s a very unusual sight,

We walked around the village, through narrow streets.

We stopped at a deli food shop. Of course the omnipresent ham was on display.

An inhabitant of the village makes a little money by letting tourists into his house:

Some more impressions of the village:

A few houses were for sale…

When it started to rain, we went to a restaurant. It wouldn’t stop… The waitress offered to take us back to our camper van in her car! But her car wouldn’t start 😦 She phoned her husband who came immediately, and he drove us. It was quite an experience, to be driven through the narrow lanes, at a considerable speed… A BIG thank you to the kind waitress and her husband !
