Our spot for the night was above Tarifa, so we had a good view of the viillage and across the sea to Morocco. It’s a bird watching place, and apparently you can see thousands of migrating birds in spring and autumn. Unfortunately it was too cold 😦

Lots of flowers, and the Strait of Gibraltar:

Tarifa is the most southern part of the European continent. The Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet here.

The Mediterranean was rougher than the Atlantic! The atmosphere was special, despite – or rather because of the weather.

We weren’t allowed to walk onto the island with the lighthouse.

We watched some surfers. The salty water and air are obviously not very good for walls…

Some animals 😉

Morocco seemed quite close. It is only 14 km after all.

Tarifa itself is quite a pretty village.

Towards the evening the sky looked threatening again…

… a good enough reason to go for a lovely meal 🙂
