Two destinations were on the agenda that day. The first is close to San Nicolás del Puerto: a little stream with lots of waterfalls, the natural monument Cascadas del Huesna. Since it was Saturday, and very sunny, there were quite a lot of people, but the area was big enough for people to spread out.

The waterfalls are only small, but very impressive all the same.

The water was very clear!

Interesting roots, soft moss, lovely flowers, busy bees …

We then drove on, through a „dehesa“ …

… to another natural monument, the Cerro del Hierro. It used to be an area for mining – there is a lot of iron in the ground.

It was wonderful to walk around. Sometimes the track ended (collapsed…) and we had to do a detour or go on a hidden path…

The view from the top was great.

We also walked through alleys formed by the rocks.

The colours were amazing!

There were arches …

… and lovely flowers 🙂

It was, overall, another WOW walk 🙂

In the evening light the colours became even more special !
