A bit further on we had a walk in a geothermal area called Gunnuhver.

Ein bisschen weiter der Küste entlang machten wir einen Spaziergang in einem geothermischen Gebiet namens Gunnuhver.

A bridge between two continents (Brú Milli Heimsálfa) ! The eurasian and the North American plate meet there.

Eine Brücke zwischen zwei Kontinenten (Brú Milli Heimsálfa) ! Die eurasische und die nordamerikanische Kontinentalplatte treffen dort aufeinander.

The last leg on that day was to the tip of Reykjanes. Often birds were slowing us down 😉 The snow-clad mountain in the background is Snæfellsjökull.

Die letzte Fahrt an diesem Tag war zur Spitze von Reykjanes. Häufig mussten wir wegen Vögeln unsere Geschwindigkeit reduzieren 😉 Der schneebeckte Berg im Hintergrund ist der Snæfellsjökull.

There are two lighthouses in Garður.

Many ships have shipwrecked here 😦 But that day the sea was calm.

Viele Schiffe sind hier zerschellt 😦 Aber an diesem Tag war das Meer ganz ruhig.

There were lots of eider ducks and arctic terns !

Es gab sehr viele Eiderenten und Küstenseeschwalben !

We had a coffee at the fancy restaurant Röstin. There is also a museum there, called Byggðasafnið, but that was closed.

Wir hatten einen Kaffee im originellen Restaurant Röstin. Es gibt dort auch ein Museum (Byggðasafnið), aber das war geschlossen.
