We spent the night in the car park of the pub „Ferns Farm“ in Carnaby. It was free of charge 🙂 We did have breakfast (the full English) there as a return service. At a garden centre a bit further east we noticed a special kind of advertising – it was hung up in the loo, like a painting 🙂 The title says: „BEST PRODUCT EVER“ And then: „Some people think these are toys – some people are VERY wrong! These HUSQVARNA ROBOTS can now maintain nearly TWO acres – on their own – for a year. They even IMPROVE the grass! Ask us HOW a robotic mower is the „Best Product Ever““

Wir verbrachten die Nacht auf dem Parkplatz des Pubs „Ferns Farm“ in Carnaby. Es war gratis, und als Gegenleistung assen wir unser Morgenessen (das volle englische Frühstück!) im Pub. In einem Gartencenter im Osten bemerkten wir auf der Toilette eine spezielle Werbung 🙂

In the North York Moors National Park we stopped for a little hike. On previous visits to the United Kingdom we drove and hiked around in this park, we think it’s gorgeous. Other years we also spent time in the county Northumberland, which we also enjoyed immensely!

Im North York Moors Nationalpark unternahmen wir eine kleine Wanderung. Bei früheren Besuchen im Vereinigten Königreich fuhren und wanderten wir bereits in diesem Nationalpark, wir finden ihn grossartig. Andere Jahre besuchten wir auch die Grafschaft Northumberland, und wir genossen diese Region ungemein.

We walked from Old Byland through a lovely countryside, and along a little stream.

Wir wanderten von Old Byland durch die wunderschöne Landschaft und einem kleinen Bach entlang.

Unfortunately the Rievaulx Abbey was just about to close, so we couldn’t visit it.

Leider schloss die Rievaulx Abbey kurz darauf ihre Tore, und wir konnten sie nicht aus der Nähe betrachten.

It wasn’t a spectacular walk, but we enjoyed the peace and the idyllic countryside. Very often we just heard the rustling of the leaves, the chirping of the birds and the humming of the bees.

Es war keine spektakuläre Wanderung, aber wir genossen die friedliche Stimmung und die idyllische Landschaft. Wir lauschten dem Rascheln der Blätter, dem Gezwitscher der Vögel und dem Summen der Bienen.

We then drove to the edge of the North York Moors. Once we had to cross a fording – not just crossing it, but driving along in the stream for a few metres.

Wir fuhren weiter zum Rand des North York Moors. Einmal überquerten wir eine für uns spezielle Furt – wir überquerten sie nicht nur, sondern mussten ein paar Meter entlang des Baches fahren.

We spent the night at Square Corner near Osmotherley.
