Sonne beim Aufstehen – super 🙂

We decided to do a hike in the Connemara National Park.

Wir entschieden uns, eine Wanderung im Connemara Nationalpark zu machen.

There are a few loop walks that you can do – we only went on the Lower Diamond Hill walk. Apparently there are some high steps on the Upper walk, and I didn’t feel like doing that, because my back was hurting a bit.

Es gibt ein paar Rundwanderungen – wir gingen nur auf den unteren Diamond Hill Weg. Offenbar hat es viele hohe Stufen beim oberen Weg, und das traute ich mir nicht zu wegen meinen Rückenschmerzen.

There were a lot of people… Most of them spoke French (is Ireland the new insider tip ?).

Es hatte sehr viele Leute… Die meisten sprachen französisch (ist Irland der neue Geheimtipp ?).

From the visitor centre there is also a little nature trail.

Vom Besucherzentrum aus kann man auch einen kleinen Naturpfad machen.

Nobody else seemed to bother with that trail, but we thought it was magical 🙂

Niemand schien sich für diesen Pfad zu interessieren, aber wir denken er ist zauberhaft 🙂

Plenty of fern and moss.

In all the food shops in Ireland the section with the alcohol is „protected“ by a gate. Does that stop anybody buying alcohol ? We also noticed cute little „houses“ for leprechauns (or the little folk ?) here and there – sometimes even in shopping centres!

In allen Lebensmittelläden in Irland wird die Alkohol-Abteilung mit Türen „gesichert“. Stoppt das irgendjemanden, Alkohol zu kaufen ? Ausserdem bemerkten wir ab und zu kleine „Häuschen“ für Leprechauns (oder Elfen ?) – manchmal sogar in Shopping Zentren!

We stopped at Derryinver Bridge.

Wir machten Halt bei der Derryinver Brücke.

It’s amazing how brown the water is.

Es ist verblüffend, wie braun das Wasser ist.

Driving towards the ruins of Renvyle Castle. These orange flowers (Crocosmia) grow in abundance along the streets!

Fahrt in Richtung Renvyle Castle. Diese Pflanzen (Monbretien – danke Vreni) wachsen oftmals sehr üppig den Strassen entlang.

Before we got to the ruins of the castle, we explored the surroundings. Such explorations often end in a cul-de-sac.

Bevor wir zu den Ruinen des Schlosses kamen, erkundeten wir die Umgebung. Solche Erkundungen enden oftmals in einer Sackgasse 😉

We walked along the cliffs for a while. Here the sheep are marked in blue.

Wir spazierten ein bisschen den Klippen entlang. Hier sind die Schafe blau markiert.

The cliffs and the beaches look fantastic!

Die Klippen und Buchten sind traumhaft!

The birds were of the same opinion 🙂

Die Vögel waren gleicher Meinung wie wir 🙂

We then drove to Cleggan.

Anschliessend fuhren wir nach Cleggan.
