Llyn Brenig / Llyn Alwen – 8.8.2023

The stay on the car park of „The Ferry Falls“ was very quiet and comfortable.

The landscape became more monotonous as we drove on.

At the Llyn (= lake) Brenig we wanted to go for a walk. But there were that many flies that we changed our mind!

Instead we drove to the visitor centre for a little walk around.

There is an osprey lookout.

A live screen showed a nest on the other side of the lake, with mother, father and a couple of chicks.

The Llyn Arwen is not far away. It’s also a reservoir, like Llyn Brenig.

We started walking, not sure whether we’d have time to walk all around before it got dark.

It was so beautiful, with all the moss and fern and flowers, we just kept on walking 🙂

The weather changed and it got very sunny.

We walked through forests and across open land.

At the far end of the lake we had to cross a little bridge.

Part of the way back was in a forest.

The evening light made everything look a bit magical 🙂

A rusty fence seems to go all around the lake. We noticed that at other reservoirs, too.

We walked quite fast now, to get back to our van before it got dark. We still had eyes for details though 😉

A few signposts every now and again explained things about the past.

It was very quiet und peaceful!

Some of the flowers glowed in the evening light 🙂

Back at the dam …

… just in time for the sunset 🙂
