Llyn Vyrnwy – 9.8.2023

We had to cross a pass to get to another lake.

At the one end of Llyn Vyrnwy we did the waterfall walk. It was an easy path into a little valley.

Soon we could see the waterfalls further back. We could also see a slope full of cut down trees 😦

Apart from that it looked really lovely.

People actually had a dip in the water ! It must have been very cold…

Although we are spoilt with the gorgeous waterfalls in Iceland, we still appreciate a nice waterfall 🙂

We made a detour to get back to our van.

At the other end of the lake we first visited the café.

Next to it there is a little RSPB hide to watch birds.

Some lovely butterflies fluttered by.

We then went for another walk, first crossing the dam …

… then we walked to the bottom of it.

A sculpture park is down there, but sadly not well maintained.

We walked up, through a forest, until we were high above the lake.

The view from that bench isn’t very good… But we had a splendid view 🙂

The little tower gets compared with Château de Chillon, probably because of its location by the lake 😉

The last leg was along the lake.

We stayed the night at an eco friendly campsite in Dolanog at Camp Plas.

It’s a wonderful place 🙂
