St. Justinian to Caerfai Beach – 22.8.2023

The old St Davids airfield is now home to lots of skylarks and other birds.

We visited St Davids again, and first went to the National Park Visitor Centre. It’s very well done, and there was an interesting exhibition about „lost words“!

Looking around a bit before we could get on the bus.

The Celtic Coaster serves some popular destinations from April to September.

We took this bus to St Justinian, the starting point of our hike.

There is a small harbour, housing the current lifeboat station, two former lifeboat stations and a private residence. The harbour is used for boat trips to Ramsey.

The coast is fantastic to look at 🙂

We saw some seals !

It took us ages because we were taking so many photos…

Ramsey Sound, the narrow passage between the main land and Ramsey, has a very strong current. It was fascinating to see.

More seals and more beautiful coast 🙂

Nice colours, too 🙂

Coasteering seems to be very popular on Pembrokeshire coast. Butterflies can fly and don’t need to climb 😉

Porth Clais.

Remains of lime kilns are often to be found.

Further along the coast.

At Caerfai Beach we went inland back to St Davids.

Some details 🙂

Again, we stayed overnight on the airfield.
