St Ann’s Head – 26.8.2023

Yesterday we had a coffee at the St Ishmaels Garden Centre and we were so intrigued by it that we went for breakfast. It was lekker 🙂

We then parked at St Ann’s car park, to do the loop walk. Do they really store puffins in those crates ?!?

The cliffs on that coast are very red – in this beautiful weather the colours are gorgeous! We could see across to the islands Skokholm and even Skomer.

Again we took lots of photos…

St Ann’s Head lighthouse.

At Cobbler’s Head there is some magnificent folding of the dramatically coloured cliffs.

Walking to the other side of the head. We could see across the bay to Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock and as far as Freshwater West.

A few little bays, the first one being Mill Bay.

Near West Blockhouse Fort.

Watwick Bay and Watwick Point Beacon. Milford Haven with its industry and docks is a gross contrast to the nature of St Ann’s Head. A big Irish Ferry was sailing past.

Lots of butterflies, mostly red admirals 🙂

At Castlebeach Bay we turned inland.

The path through the little forest was quite muddy…

At the garden centre we got a couple of scones, even though the café was already closed 🙂 The streets are not always broad enough for the tractors 😉
