St. Govan’s Head / Green Bridge of Wales / Eleguy Stacks – 28.8.2023

The first sight on our walk was St Govan’s Chapel.

The majority of the chapel was built in the thirteenth century, although parts of it may date back further to the sixth century.

The small bay is fascinating. Seals were watching the tourists 🙂

We carried on walking to St Govan’s Head.

The rocks close to the water looked very special!

The vertical cliffs are predestined for climbing.

The surf gnaws at the rock, and it’s crumbly.

Plenty of karst rock everywhere.

We saw Church Rock (we saw that yesterday already) from the other side.

We walked inland to Bosherston and had scones at „Ye Olde Worlde Café“. First we sat outside, then inside because of the huge amount of wasps.

Back to the coast, to the „Green Bridge of Wales“.

It’s a huge arch!

Dramatic scenes – a baby seal was close to being swept into the sea.

The Eleguy Stacks are not far away.

Little bays with lots of seals and their pups.

The chough with its red bill and red legs and a rocky climber 🙂

Some of the cliffs were red, and it was all very rugged.

More dramatic scenes: a pup couldn’t get out of a little pool. The mother had to coax it out!

The Cauldron.

The cliffs are full of caves and arches and cracks!

Back to Bosherston, to the same campsite as the night before. From there we could walk to the St. Govan’s Inn, past the church St Michael and All Angels.
