Die Sicht aufs Schloss von Manorbier war perfekt 🙂

Before we left we had a look at the church. I’ve never seen such an interesting interior in a church!

Bevor wir losfuhren, besichtigten wir die Kirche. Ich habe noch nie ein so interessantes Interieur einer Kirche gesehen!

Coffee and bisquits were on offer, and the loo seemed to be in a former confesstional box 😉

Kaffee und Güezi gab es im Angebot, und die Toilette schien in einem ehemaligen Beichtstuhl zu sein 😉

We didn’t serve ourselves, but left a good tip. Our next destination was Tenby.

Wir bedienten uns nicht, aber hinterliessen ein grosszügiges Trinkgeld. Unser nächstes Ziel war Tenby.

Parking was difficult because a lot of the town was blocked, the reason being the „Ironman Wales“ on September 3rd. Luckily we found a spot, so that we could have a stroll through town.

Teile der Stadt waren abgesperrt, und es war schwierig einen Parkplatz zu finden. Der Grund dafür war der „Ironman Wales“ vom 3. September. Zum Glück fanden wir doch noch einen, und wir konnten durch die Stadt spazieren.

Tenby is famous for its colourful houses and the beaches.

Tenby ist bekannt für seine farbenfrohen Häuser und die Strände.

It’s a colourful town with plenty of tourists.

Our next destination was Colby Woodland Garden near Amroth. We wanted to walk each of the paths 😉

Unser nächstes Ziel war der Colby Woodland Garten in der Nähe von Amroth. Wir wollten jeden der Wege ablaufen 😉

The big open space was used to play bow and arrow.

Der grosse Platz wurde benutzt, um Pfeilbogen-Schiessen zu üben.

We spent quite some time in the woodland part of the garden.

Wir verbrachten recht viel Zeit im bewaldeten Teil des Gartens.

Many carved benches lined the paths.

Viele geschnitzte Bänke säumten die Wege.

Lots of interesting trees and plants.

A little stream runs through the valley.

Durch das Tal fliesst ein kleiner Bach.

It was a very peaceful garden.

Es war ein sehr friedlicher Garten.

That evening we drove to Narberth. My in-laws lived there at one time, and I wanted to show Kurt the village.

An jenem Abend fuhren wir nach Narberth. Meine Schwiegereltern lebten mal dort, und ich wollte Kurt das Dorf zeigen.

It was a very dreary and bleak day. The colourful houses still looked good 🙂

Es war ein sehr trüber und grauer Tag. Die farbigen Häuser sahen trotzdem gut aus 🙂

The house where my in-laws lived is now called Fire & Ice. The current owner was very friendly and showed me around 🙂

Das Haus, in dem meine Schwiegereltern und meine Schwägerin wohnten, heisst jetzt „Fire & Ice“. Der jetzige Inhaber war sehr freundlich und führte mich herum 🙂

My father-in-law’s favourite pub was „The Angel“.

Das Stammlokal meines Schwiegervaters war „The Angel“.

There are a few antique shops in Narberth. We went to some of them, looking for thimbles.

Es gibt ein paar Antiquitätenläden in Narberth. Wir besuchten ein paar davon auf der Suche nach Fingerhüten.

We then left that region of Wales, heading towards Gower. Somehwere along the way (in Cross Hands) we stopped to do some washing.

Wir verliessen diese Region von Wales und fuhren Richtung Gower. Unterwegs machten wir Halt in Cross Hands, um unsere Wäsche zu waschen.

On the peninsula Gower we wanted to eat and stay the night at „The Oxwich Bay“, but we could only have done that if we were members of Britstops (which we are not…). So we went on to the „Britannia Inn“.

Auf der Halbinsel Gower wollten wir beim „The Oxwich Bay“ essen und auf dem Parkplatz übernachten. Leider wurde uns das verwehrt, da wir nicht Mitglieder von Britstops sind. Also fuhren wir weiter zum „Britannia Inn“.
