There are quite a few free pitches for campers in the Ebro delta. We stayed at the one next to the restaurant Casa de Fusta.

Im Ebro Delta gibt es einige kostenlose Stellplätze für Campers. Wir verbrachten die Nacht auf dem Platz neben dem Restaurant Casa de Fusta.

On another holiday we rented bikes there. This time we only had a little walk around …

In anderen Ferien haben wir dort Velos gemietet. Diesmal spazierten wir nur ein bisschen herum …

… then we drove to Deltebre to go shopping. Some rice fields were flooded.

… dann fuhren wir nach Deltebre, um einzukaufen. Einige der Reisfelder waren geflutet.

Riumar is situated by the mouth of the river Ebro. We went for a little walk from there.

Riumar liegt an der Mündung des Flusses Ebro. Das war der Startpunkt einer kleinen Wanderung.

We walked through sand and dunes.

Wir wanderten durch Sand und Dünen.

Some bird watching huts, but not many birds to see.

Unmittelbar bei der Ebro-Mündung stehen ein komischer Leuchtturm und ein Aussichtsturm.

The next morning it was lovely and sunny!

Before we set off, we wanted to see the flamingos again. There were a lot, but only a few were flying.

Bevor wir losfuhren, wollten wir noch einmal die Flamingos sehen. Es hatte wieder sehr viele, aber nur sehr wenige waren am fliegen.

Leaving the delta, because our holiday destination was further south.

Wir verliessen das Delta wieder, weil unser Ziel in diesen Ferien weiter südlich war.

We drove past countless orange and olive plantations.

Wir fuhren an unzähligen Orangen- und Oliven-Plantagen vorbei.

We had a scary moment at a service station: my bum bag was stolen! Fortunately, I noticed it shortly after the theft, and Kurt ran after the thief, through the whole service area and down the stairs. On the way out, he was able to snatch the bag back from him! Kurt, my hero, in a scene worthy of a film 🙂

Bei einer Raststätte hatten wir einen Schreckmoment: meine Bauchtasche wurde gestohlen! Zum Glück bemerkte ich es kurz nach dem Diebstahl, und Kurt rannte dem Dieb nach, durch die ganze Raststätte und die Treppe runter. Beim Ausgang konnte er ihm die Tasche wieder entreissen! Kurt, mein Held, in einer filmreifen Szene 🙂
