We would have preferred to spend more time in the hills, but it was noticeably cooler there. We decided to travel along the coast, even though it’s quite built up. We drove close to the Parc Natural El Fondo.

Wir hätten gerne mehr Zeit in den Hügeln verbracht, aber leider war es dort spürbar kühler. Wir entschieden uns für die Küstenregion, obwohl es dort viel mehr überbaut ist. Wir fuhren nahe am Parc Natural El Fondo vorbei.

Again, lots of graffiti and rubbish, especially in barren land and at the roadside. We also saw big heaps of salt. We quite like holiday places with little towers, balconies and alcoves.

Wieder viel Graffiti und Müll, speziell auf Brachland und am Strassenrand. Wir sahen auch grosse Salzhaufen. Uns gefallen Ferienhäuser mit Türmchen, Balkons und Nischen.

Clot de Galvany is a little nature reserve north of Santa Pola.

Clot de Galvany ist ein kleines Naturschutzgebiet nördlich von Santa Pola.

There are a few bird watching huts. We noticed that the information was in Spanish and in Valencian!

Es hat ein paar Vogelbeobachtungshütten. Wir bemerkten, dass die Infos in spanisch und in valenzianisch angeschrieben waren!

Unfortunately we didn’t see many birds… But we liked the mirroring on the lake 🙂

Leider sahen wir nicht viele Vögel… Aber die Spiegelung auf dem See gefiel uns 🙂

There was a signposted path that led through the park. Almost everywhere we saw houses in the background.

Es gab einen ausgeschilderten Weg durch den Park. Fast überall sahen wir Häuser im Hintergrund.

It felt good to be out in nature again.

Es tat gut, wieder mal in der Natur zu sein.

Of course we climbed on every viewing platform 😉

Natürlich bestiegen wir alle Aussichtsplattformen 😉

The colours were somehow nice – it looked a bit like an arrangement of dried flowers 🙂

Die Farben waren irgendwie hübsch – es sah aus wie ein Gesteck aus Trockenblumen 🙂

Wieder unten bei den Seen.

We interpreted the sign in the middle as „please don’t feed the birds“. -There were some interesting looking trees trunks 🙂

Wir interpretierten das Zeichen in der Mitte als „bitte die Vögel nicht füttern“. Es hatte einige interessante Baumstämme 🙂

Later we even saw some more birds …

Später sahen wir sogar einige Vögel …

… and even two flamingos! They weren’t pink, because they obviously don’t eat the special algae or crab that contain the carotenoids. Or they were young birds…

… und sogar zwei Flamingos! Sie waren nicht rosa, weil sie offenbar keine von den speziellen Algen oder Krebsen fressen, welche die Carotinoide enthalten. Oder es waren noch Jungvögel…

We enjoyed that little walk 🙂
