driving to Sicily (part three: Polignano a Mare / Alberobello) 29. + 30.12.25

Drive south along the coast., past a lot of agricultural land.

Lagoons for salt production, and drive through the so called salt town Margherita di Savoia.

The old part of Polignano a Mare is built on rocks.

We went for an extended stroll through this beautiful town.

It’s all done up lovely, for the tourists mostly.

There are viewing platforms, overlooking the sea.

This is our favourite town in Italy so far!

As is often the case, it’s difficult to choose from all our photos…

Next to the big bridge is a smaller one. Underneath you can either walk right to a little beach …

… or walk left into a little park.

In the evening the town was lit up nicely.

The following day we drove inland to Alberobello –> Trulli

It’s a very touristy place, and we were glad to be there in winter, and not in high season!

It was quieter just outside the centre.

For a small donation you can visit a trullo from the inside.

There was even an ice rink!

Art projects with lights and with sunflowers 🙂

A „trulli church“! Some information and a last walk through the streets.

After this visit we continued southwards. The stone walls reminded us of Great Britain 🙂
