The weather was changeable once again as we set off for Segesta.

Das Wetter war wieder einmal unbeständig, als wir uns nach Segesta aufmachten.

Segesta ist ein archäologischer Park.

There weren’t many visitors. We first went up to the ruins of the town. From there we had a good view of the temple.

Es hatte nicht viele Besucher. Zuerst gingen wir hinauf zu den Ruinen der Stadt. Von dort hat man einen guten Blick auf den Tempel.

The amphitheatre is still in good condition! It has been restored, and open-air performances are held there in summer.

Das Amphitheater ist noch in gutem Zustand! Es wurde restauriert, und im Sommer finden dort Freiluftaufführungen statt.

Just like in Erice, there are also artworks by Philip Colbert. I prefered the flowers 😉

Wie in Erice gibt’s auch in Segesta Kunstobjekte von Philip Colbert. Mir gefielen die Blumen besser 😉

The view is certainly much nicer in good weather!

At one time it rained a little, but not enough to get really wet.

Es hat einmal kurz geregnet, aber nicht genug, um richtig nass zu werden.

We then went across to the other hill, up to the temple.

Wir gingen dann zum anderen Hügel, hinauf zum Tempel.

I liked the idea of reusing old clothes.

Mir gefiel die Idee, alte Kleidungsstücke wiederzuverwenden.

Apparently the temple was never completed …

Anscheinend wurde der Tempel nie fertiggestellt …

… but it has been repaired or reinforced many times. We weren’t there long and it started raining – this time before we reached our van 😉

… aber er wurde schon oft repariert oder verstärkt. Wir waren noch nicht lange dort, und es begann zu regnen – diesmal, bevor wir zurück bei unserem Büssli waren 😉
