Finally we’re off again, on a trip to Great Britain / Ireland – we’ll see where it will take us 😉 We started on June 4th 2023, direction Rotterdam. On the way there we visited some friends and family. Here are a couple of impressions:

Endlich sind wir wieder mal unterwegs, auf einer Reise nach Grossbritannien / Irland – mal sehen, wohin es uns führt 😉 Wir fuhren am 4.6.2023 los, Richtung Rotterdam. Auf dem Weg dorthin besuchten wir einige Freunde und Familie. Hier ein paar Eindrücke:

In a restaurant we noticed a serving roboter – it’s the first encounter we ever had with one of them!

In einem Restaurant bemerkten wir einen Servier-Roboter – es ist unsere erste Begegnung mit einem solchen Ding!

In Belgium we experienced a new accomodation model: P & B (parking and breakfast). Thanks a million, „Patrick – you always look the same :)“

We also visited an old clay pit, now being used as a recreation area: De Schorre.

In Belgien erlebten wir ein neuartiges Unterkunftsmodell: P & B (Parking und Morgenessen). Danke tausendmal, „Patrick – Du siehst ja auch immer gleich aus :)“

Wir besuchten dort auch eine stillgelegte Lehmgrube, die jetzt als Naherholungsgebiet benutzt wird: De Schorre.

At the moment a lot of the park is fenced off, because preparations are made for a huge festival, the Tomorrowland, which will take place in July.

Momentan ist ein grosser Teil des Parks abgesperrt, weil Vorbereitungen laufen für ein riesiges Festival, das Tomorrowland, welches im Juli stattfinden wird.

Only a small part was accessible, luckily the little forest with huge trolls, and a bare foot path 🙂

Nur ein kleiner Teil des Parks war frei zugänglich, vor allem ein kleiner Wald mit gewaltigen Trollfiguren, und ein Barfusspfad 🙂

The trolls are well hidden, we only saw four of them.

Die Trolle sind gut versteckt, wir sahen nur vier.

A rotting „death ride“ is still standing around, and a climbing tower.

Eine verfallene „Todesrutsche“ steht auch noch rum, und auch ein Kletterturm.

Around Rotterdam there was an awful lot of traffic.

Um Rotterdam hatte es wahnsinnig viel Verkehr.

Boarding the ferry was no problem whatsoever 🙂

Das Verladen auf die Fähre war überhaupt kein Problem 🙂

We spent the night on the ferry, arriving in Kingston-upon-Hull the next morning.

Wir verbrachten die Nacht auf der Fähre, und trafen am morgen früh in Kingston-upon-Hull ein.
