Sicily: lemon garden in Fiumefreddo – 10.-18.1.26

In Park4night we found our next site to stay overnight, not far from Taormina. It was a lemon garden in Fiumefreddo, only separated from the sea by a road.

It’s a private garden, and we ended up staying there for 8 nights.

This factory is clearly abandoned, but the ventilators were still turning 😉 From that garden we did trips in the surrounding areas. Some very near, like just down the road …

… others a bit further. But we very much enjoyed staying in the garden – it felt a bit like home. Mount Etna was different every day, depending on the clouds and what it ejected.

Margherita, the owner of the place, does dance classes, Feldenkrais and tambourine workshops. I joined the Feldenkrais on two mornings and loved it 🙂

Early birds caught the morning sun …

… or the frost or dew.

The sunset at the beach 🙂

This is a bit of an emotional blog entry – the place doesn’t look like this any more 😦

Storm „Harry“ destroyed a lot of the property… The road was flooded (by the waves!), the wall was smashed, the front of the house is in shambles, the dance hall is ruined. We left the area before it got bad. Here are some before-after photos. Margherita sent us a video to show us the impact. We’re very sad about it 😦

Luckily Margherita, her family and their animals are safe!
