Sicily: from Menfi via Caltabellotta to Camping U’Pantanu / Capo Bianco – 4.+5.2.26

We left Menfi (where they make good wine!) and the bad roads behind, drove past Sciacca and then inland.

The countryside was beautiful, despite the bad weather.

These photos were all taken from the moving van, but you can still see the lovely scenery.

We drove through Caltabellotta and past Sant’Anna …

… then on to Villafranca Sicula. There we stopped for a bite to eat.

From there we headed south towards the sea again …

… past Calamonaci. Some impressions, apart from the landscape 😉

Approaching the campsite U’Pantanu, the road was getting really bad again!

U’Pantanu is beautifully situated in the heart of nature. The showers are fantastic 🙂

The next day we headed off to the seaside. The weather soon turned sunny.

Our destination was the Capo Bianco.

We walked along the top of the cliffs.

Some nice flowers 🙂

The cliffs are crumbling 😦 A new path has already been built.

We walked until we could see the mouth of the river Platani.

The archeological site Eraclea Minoa is a museum and can be visited –> Heraclea Minoa .

Apart from the museum there is a big area to walk around and see sites of a theatre and houses.

You can even enter one of the „houses“.

We then drove down to the shore.

This restaurant has suffered in the last storm!

We walked along the beach towards the cliffs.

In the evening we drove back to the campsite U’Pantanu, but we first stopped at Montallegro for a meal (the toast was only the starter, before the actual food was being served!).
