One of our day trips from Siracusa took us to the Valle dell’Anapo. Photos of the journey there.

There is an entrance gate to reach the valley and go for the walk. It’s part of the „riserva naturale orientata Pantalica“ –> Necropolis of Pantalica .

Es gibt ein Eingangstor, um ins Tal zu gelangen und die Wanderung zu machen: Es ist ein Teil des „riserva naturale orientata Pantalica“ –> Nekropole von Pantalica .

At the beginning there is a tunnel. A former railway line is being used as a walking trail.

Am Anfang hat’s einen Tunnel. Als Wanderweg wird eine ehemalige Eisenbahnstrecke genutzt.

And then it’s just beautiful 🙂

Und dann ist’s einfach nur schön 🙂

The river Anapo flows through the valley.

Der Fluss Anapo fliesst durch das Tal.

Kurt helped a member of the park staff to clear branches out of the way.

There were plenty of pretty flowers.

Es gab unzählige schöne Blumen.

Some small tunnels, vertical rocks, lots of vegetation, no people, the river, beautiful weather – what more do you want 🙂

Einige kleine Tunnels, senkrechte Felsen, viel Vegetation, keine Leute, der Fluss, das schöne Wetter – was braucht es mehr 🙂

We also saw lots of holes in the rocks from the tombs, dating from the 13th to the 7th centuries BC. These necropolises are open to visitors, although access is not via the gorge but from above.

Wir sahen auch viele Löcher in den Felsen von den Gräbern, aus der Zeit vom 13. bis zum 7. Jahrhundert v.Chr. Diese Nekropolen können besichtigt werden, allerdings ist der Zugang nicht aus der Schlucht, sondern von oben her.

We enjoyed this walk immensely! But we had to turn back sometime – the gates at the entrance were to close at 4pm.

Wir genossen diese Wanderung sehr! Aber irgendwann mussten wir den Rückweg antreten – die Tore beim Eingang werden um 4 Uhr geschlossen.

In some places the holes from the tombes are clearly visible, high up.

An einigen Stellen sieht man die Löcher der Gräber, weit oben, sehr gut.

Some butterflies and other creatures.

Einige Schmetterlinge und andere Geschöpfe.

We also liked the fence. And of course the light 🙂

Die Zäune gefielen uns. Und natürlich immer wieder das Licht 🙂
