At the Capo Murro di Porca we walked to the lighthouse.

Approaching Siracusa …

Wir näherten uns Siracusa …

… and looking at it from opposite the bay. We never went into the town itself. Looking back, we think it’s a shame – it is clearly a beautiful city.

… und von der gegenüberliegenden Seite der Bucht aus gesehen. Wir sind nie in die Stadt selbst gegangen. Im Nachhinein finden wir’s schade – es ist offenbar eine wunderschöne Stadt.

The campsite „Caravan Garden“, run by two young women, suited us well – and it has lovely showers 😉

Der Stellplatz „Caravan Garden“, der von zwei jungen Frauen betrieben wird, hat uns sehr gefallen – und es gibt dort gute Duschen 😉

We then tried to find the „Riserva Naturale Orientata Saline di Priolo“ …

… and after some searching, we actually found it!

But overall we weren’t very impressed.

Siracusa was very badly hit by the recent storm 😦 The restaurant Bagno 64 tried to make the best of the situation to look after its guests.

Siracusa wurde vom jüngsten Sturm sehr schwer getroffen 😦 Das Restaurant Bagno 64 versuchte, das Beste daraus zu machen, um die Gäste zu bewirten.

Another day we first drove through parts of Siracusa …

An einem anderen Tag fuhren wir zunächst durch Teile von Siracusa …

… then walked (only about 10 minutes, because it was so tiny!) through the „Saline di Siracusa“.

… und spazierten dann (nur etwa 10 Minuten, weil es so winzig war!) durch das „Saline di Siracusa“.

Part of the „Riserva Naturale Orientata Fiume Ciane“ is a walking trail along the river Ciane. It is officially closed, but we could still walk through it.

Teil des „Riserva Naturale Orientata Fiume Ciane“ ist ein Wanderweg dem Fluss Ciane entlang. Er ist offiziell geschlossen, aber trotzdem begehbar.

Papyrus grows all along the little stream.

Papyrus wächst dem ganzen Flüsschen entlang.

It was a lovely walk, despite being quite wet at times.

Es war ein schöner Spaziergang, auch wenn es stellenweise sehr nass war.
